Who we are
IMR was created in October 2020 as a result of the alliance between ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada and Triple M Metal. Since the creation of the joint venture, IMR has been in continuous expansion. An acquisition in March 2022 has been completed, and that’s just the beginning.
At IMR, we recycle over 1 million tonnes of ferrous metals annually. We have 8 sites in operation in Quebec. We buy from all types of suppliers, processors and sell the ferrous and non-ferrous metals we recycle to give them a second life.
We work to protect the environment. We aim to create a circular economy with all our partners, suppliers and customers. This synergy is crucial, and enables all stakeholders to do their part by recycling different types of steel and alloys.

Triple M Metal completes acquisition of Metrobec Inc.
ST-HUBERT, QUEBEC, July 9, 2019 – Triple M Metal announces the acquisition of MetroBec, a Quebec-based metal processor. As we expand our footprint, we continue to look for ways to deliver value and service to our customers across North America.
ArcelorMittal (AMPLC) completes acquisition of Legault Métal
TRECESSON, QUEBEC, August 27, 2019 – ArcelorMittal announced today that it has acquired the assets of Legault Métal Inc. a metal recycling company with facilities in Trécesson, Val d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda and La Sarre, in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. These sites, which will now operate under the name Legault Métal, a division of ArcelorMittal, will continue to offer recycling services to scrap dealers and private individuals.
A joint venture is born - Integrated Metal Recycling
CONTRECOEUR, QUEBEC AND BRAMPTON, ONTARIO, October 13, 2020 – ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada (“ArcelorMittal”) and Triple M Metal (“Triple M”), two of Canada’s leading players in the metal recycling industry, announce that they are joining forces to offer more choice and service to scrap metal suppliers. The two companies are today creating a joint venture called Integrated Metal Recycling inc., which will henceforth consolidate many of the partners’ recycling activities in Quebec.
IMR completes acquisition of Société des Métaux Recyclés
